BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Andersen was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  She returned to school midlife where she rekindled her love of painting.  After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a B.A. in art and receiving her masters in integrative arts education from Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, she enjoyed a career teaching elementary art.  Approaching retirement she was presented the opportunity to rent a studio at 16th Street Studios, Racine, Wisconsin, which she continues to maintain.  It was there she began to seriously pursue her “third act” career as an artist.  She considers herself proof it is never too late to pursue your dreams and do what you love.

Her acrylic and watercolor paintings are an expression of her love for her craft and chosen subjects.  Her emotional attachment to the landscape and its inhabitants is conveyed through her use of color and spontaneous mark making.  Her artwork can be seen at 16th Street Gallery, Racine and Re:Vision Gallery, Kenosha. It also hangs in private collections throughout the U.S.
